Overview

MBIE currently stores its seismic data at a remote storage facility on a variety of media.

To maintain this collection and develop it for future use, MBIE intends to procure the following services:

• as a one-off migration, move the existing seismic data records held on tape and HDD into MBIE’s Azure tenancy within ERM’s data platform, along with some survey-level QA/QC and metadata extraction to facilitate ongoing management of the collection; and
• as an ongoing service to handle new submitted data, to receive, QA/QC and upload new data to Azure; and
• as an ongoing service, to supply data from Azure to requesters in physical format (e.g. on tape or via physical media e.g. Azure Data Boxes), while handling payments or cost recovery from requesters.
