Overview

The Government is seeking to transform the residential construction sector through this Invitation to Pitch (ITP). This includes looking to the adoption of innovative building methods and components that contribute to the improved built cost efficiency and affordability of New Zealand homes. The resulting efficiencies will support the delivery of 100,000 affordable new dwellings over the next ten years.
To achieve this, the KiwiBuild Unit (KiwiBuild), within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is seeking to explore opportunities for off-site manufacturing (OSM) as a mechanism to aid housing supply growth.
KiwiBuild is soliciting ideas and proposals (Pitches) from potential suppliers and consortia who can assist KiwiBuild to deliver homes for first home buyers. This ITP forms part of the Government’s wider strategy of using its procurement power to increase productivity and drive innovation gains in the building and construction sector.
