Standards New Zealand is a business unit within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
Standards New Zealand is the national standards body for New Zealand, and specialises in managing the development of standards and the publishing and selling of New Zealand, joint Australia-New Zealand and international standards. Standards are currently made available for access to customers in document form as a hard-copy or PDF, under a one-off purchase or annual subscription payment model.
Standards New Zealand is seeking information and interest from third parties who can see potential for content in standards to be offered to customers in innovative new ways which will provide greater benefits for customers and end users.
These ‘value-add’ products or services would be designed, created and brought to market by the third-party, under contract and licensing arrangements with Standards New Zealand. The products or services would provide customers with recognisable additional value over the traditional copy-of-the-document model of access.
Through this Request for Information (RFI), Standards New Zealand is seeking to become more informed about the range of value-add solutions, technologies and capabilities in the marketplace. We would like to know:
 who the market players and interested parties are, and what customer segments or industry sectors they have market access to
 how value-add solutions would be developed and brought to market and how this would work from a commercial and licensing perspective
 where things might be heading with respect to accessing and using value-add digital content of this nature in the foreseeable future.
