The key objective of this procurement is to find a suitably qualified supplier of fuel testing services that can undertake a comprehensive range of tests on liquid fuels as part of the Ministry of Buisiness, Innovation and Employment's Trading Standards role of having regulatory oversight of New Zealand fuel quality. Our testing requirements relate to the quality and compositional standards as prescribed by the current Engine Fuel Specifications Regulations.

MBIE’s Trading Standards works to make sure the fuel industry is aware of and complies with the law regarding specifications for engine fuels. A service is therefore required to regularly test engine fuels in New Zealand. The overall quality of the fuel supplied in New Zealand is high when benchmarked against other jurisdictions. Trading Standards is the operational unit within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) dedicated to maintaining this and is looking for a service provider that can contribute to these aims.
