As a registered user on the Government Electronic Tenders Service, we are interested in your views on government procurement.

Government agencies spend billions every year buying goods and services from third-party suppliers and providers, accounting for around 18% of New Zealand’s GDP. These goods and services are often critical to our country’s economic and social well-being.

Our annual business survey (https://www.research.net/r/32Y5T7B) gives you the opportunity to provide feedback on your experiences of bidding for government contracts. We also want to understand your experience of government contract management.

We are seeking your feedback on how the procurement of goods and services is undertaken across government – not just MBIE itself – but by any government department, crown entity, district health board, tertiary education institution or local authority.

Your feedback helps us focus our efforts to improve government commercial practice.

To address concerns raised in last year’s survey we are:
• Developing supplier relationship management training for government agencies
• Strengthening initiatives to improve agency procurement capability
• Piloting government model tender templates to increase standardisation across government, improve the clarity of tender documents and make it easier for businesses to work with government

Enhancements to the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) have already been rolled out to make it easier for business to access government tender opportunities.

A year on we want to know what changes you have noticed and what more we can do to improve your experience working with government.

The results will be published on our website in the coming months.
