Personal Property Securities Register – Market Engagement Workshops
The Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) will be looking in the near future to release a procurement process that will secure the services of a vendor capable of creating and supporting elements of a replacement software solution to the existing Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR).
The current PPSR is used 24x7 by banks, finance companies and others to register financing statements over personal property. The register is considered an essential tool to support New Zealand’s financial market and has:
• 2 million active financing statements
• 550,000 new financing statements registered annually
• 85% of registrations and 69% of searches conducted via API / web services
• 2.5 million searches conducted a year
To support the work being carried out, MBIE is keen to engage with vendors who are interested in this upcoming contract. We will be holding two early market engagement workshops with one in Auckland and one in Wellington. Workshops will be approximately two hours in duration and will be held during the week commencing the 22nd February 2016.
Prior to the 22nd February 2016, it is our intention to release on GETS our high level requirements including functional, non-functional and technical information. The workshops will introduce the project and seek to engage vendors so that the Ministry can take into account any notable comments and ideas that may be expressed.

• Your organisation’s details and contact person;
• Venue preference (Auckland or Wellington);
• Attending in person or via conference call; and
• The names and the roles of people you expect to be at the workshop.
The close-off date for organisations to confirm their intent to attend these workshops is at 5:00pm on Wednesday the 17th February 2016.
Please note: Attendance at these workshops is not mandatory and as such, non-attendance will have no effect on your organisation’s ability to respond to any RFP process that follows.
