The Emergency Response System (ERS) Service is a new initiative that will create new ways for the public to interact with Emergency Services. The Service will consist of a mobile application and supporting services that will enable the public to select and call the emergency service required and provide the Emergency Services with the location of the mobile device to enable assistance to be dispatched rapidly. In addition the application will allow the Emergency Services to send threat alerts and other relevant information to at-risk communities in geo-targeted areas during emergencies.
We consider the ERS service to contain the following components:
• a mobile application service;
• a web application service; and
• service delivery and support.
