This Expression of Interest relates to the resignalling works required for the Trentham to Upper Hutt Double Track Project, and broadly comprises the planning, design, supply, installation and commissioning of a new Computer Based Interlocking and associated lineside signalling equipment, together with interfaces to existing KiwiRail train control and telecommunications systems, track and electric traction systems.
The intent of the Trentham to Upper Hutt Double Track project is to construct the final section of double track main line between Trentham and Upper Hutt to realise additional operational capacity in the Wellington Metro Rail Network. The project will include the construction of 2.5km of main line, a new station platform, upgrades to existing station platforms, level crossing upgrades that may include grade separation, new traction overhead, replacement of signalling systems, and upgrades to the Upper Hutt Station track layout.
