Overview

Kāpiti Coast District Council administers burials and plot purchases as well as maintaining current and closed cemeteries. Council own well-maintained cemeteries and aim to ensure that family members can access both the cemetery interment site, and the cemetery records that are available online. The interment bookings and monumental permit processes are mostly manual with records held in spreadsheets or physical forms that are reliant on strong attention to detail and communication to avoid errors.

Council is seeking a digital solution that is a one-source solution for all cemetery information and management needs that can manage interment bookings, some financial processes, records management, GIS mapping, customer relations, operational planning, and strategic reporting. The aim is to integrate or automate workflows and processes to reduce manual steps, delays, and errors. The new solution should also provide a streamlined and secure service that is configurable and adaptive to rites, traditions, etiquettes of diverse cultures and beliefs.
Cemeteries is one of the core Council functions under Community Facilities. It is important to us to provide services that:
• Benefit the community by making the interment process simpler and easier to understand.
• Support local business by providing funeral directors and stone masons access to information outside of normal business hour that will enable them to make faster business decisions that give peace of mind and surety to family members
• Streamline council processes by reducing the hands in the work, the time to complete the business process and the costs to organisation.
Cemeteries services is an important function delivered by Council. Every person is impacted by death and loss at various times in life. Council recognises that this is a highly emotive life event and wishes to provide support and service that is sensitive towards family members during this time. Council is seeking a tool that will assist in making a difference to the community and people’s lives. You will be helping us to achieve this.
Kāpiti Coast District Council is a great organisation to work with. We prioritise in building and maintaining positive vendor and stakeholder relationships that allow us to collaborate effectively and provide best service to our community and customers.
