Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the maintenance and renewal of public lighting in the Kāpiti Coast District.
The Kapiti Coast District Council (KCDC) is nearing the completion of the upgrading of all road streetlight luminaires to LEDs, which are expected to be completed by 30 June 2019. Apart from a very low percentage of failures, it is not expected that the luminaires will require repair, replacement, or cleaning during the term of the Contract. The failure rate to date has been minimal. Similarly, it is expected the reduction in light from the luminaires because of dirt should be of the order of only 1-3% per year based on overseas experience meaning they do not need to be cleaned unless the light is being maintained/repaired for any other reason.
