The purpose of this Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) is to invite interested parties to register their interest, by way of an Expression of Interest (EOI), in providing Architectural services and design work.
The Council wishes to upgrade and refurbish the Mahara Gallery, Waikanae, Kapiti Coast, in a way that will enhance its capacity to fulfil the role as the District's Public Gallery. The building was not designed for its current occupant and in return provides inadequate space and does not have museum standard internal infrastructure. The Gallery has the opportunity to become the permanent home of the nationally significant Field Collection of paintings, but this is conditional on the Gallery being enhanced in a way that offers sufficient space and improved standards of internal infrastructure.
The REOI is stage one of a two stage process. Upon completion of the REOI, suppliers will be notified of the outcome and those shortlisted will be issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to complete the procurement process. The shortlisted Architects will be required to provide a concept design as part of the second stage RFT process. The Architectural firms will be reimbursed for this work.
