Overview

Hamilton City Council invites proposals from veterinary service providers with the personnel, facilities, systems and service resilience needed to provide safe, humane, timely and reliable veterinary services for Animal Education and Control.
The required service includes:
24-hour emergency veterinary support
at least two scheduled visits each week to the Animal Education and Control Centre, with timing agreed with Council
urgent clinic appointments within two hours on business days, unless otherwise agreed
assessment, triage and treatment of animals
vaccination, microchipping and desexing
treatment of illness and injury
euthanasia where clinically appropriate and authorised
accurate and secure animal health records
monthly service reporting and itemised invoicing
suitable backup, referral and business-continuity arrangements.
Council is looking for a provider offering strong clinical and animal-welfare practices, suitably qualified and available personnel, accessible facilities, reliable emergency and backup arrangements, clear communication, accurate reporting and good public value.
Proposals will be evaluated using weighted attributes covering service methodology and animal welfare, personnel and professional capability, facilities and service resilience, relevant organisational experience, Economic Benefit, Local Participation and price. Mandatory requirements will include professional authority to provide veterinary services, core service availability, specified insurance and completion of the required declarations
