Overview
The 2025 triennial local authority elections for Hamilton City Council (HCC) will be held on Saturday 4 October 2025. They are required to be undertaken in accordance with the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Electoral Regulations 2001, the New Zealand Public Health & Disability Act 2000 and, to a limited extent, the Local Government Act 2002.
HCC’s current structure is:
- Mayor (at large)
- 2 Kirikiriroa Maaori Ward Councillors
- 6 East ward Councillors
- 6 West ward Councillors
