Hamilton City Council (Council) has received funding for a new walking and cycling bridge over the Waikato River in central Hamilton with construction completion due in 2027.

The bridge is expected to be 5m wide and around 240m long, with no piers in the river. This opportunity could have a significant positive impact on access, mobility, and amenity in central Hamilton, contributing to Council’s strategic goals for residential growth, mode shift and the river environment.

Council wishes to identify suitable contractor/designer teams to work with in a multi-stage procurement process commencing with this shortlisting for a concept design RFP. We want contractors and designers working together from the beginning.
