Introduction
Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is a Crown agency that brings together the people, capabilities and resources to support the Government’s priorities for housing and urban development in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Commercial focus
Kāinga Ora is transforming how we operate and deliver our services, so that we can best serve New Zealand communities and leave a more financially sustainable social housing legacy for future generations. We are already delivering housing to scale with greater efficiency and speed, and we need to ensure that we are appropriately commercially challenging all of our external spend.
Panel
Kāinga Ora is running a secondary competitive procurement process using the Kāinga Ora Christchurch Redevelopment Panel for this project.
Project, Contract Works The development, including the remodel of the below site as described fully in Appendix B:
125 Colombo Street, Christchurch - Remodel to 3x bedrooms, 2x lounges and 2x bathrooms, 1x dining room and 1x kitchen & pantry as per the issued plans
Site Visit
There is a site visit being arranged for Monday 31st March on site. The Kāinga Ora Relationship team will reach out to coordinate
Contract Type
The applicable contract type for this RFP is: Minor Works Agreement – fixed price lump sum
Please note the following within the plans which may differ to the standard Kāinga Ora redevelopment projects:
Fencing, security, access control, hot water systems, windows.
You should allow for Kāinga Ora specifications for sanitary plumbing if not fully detailed within the plans.
A sprinkler system will need to be installed but this has not been scoped yet –this is excluded from the scope at this stage.
Indicative Timeline
You need to provide a programme that ensures delivery by 01 August 2025 at the latest and enables the most cost effective and efficient construction programme. The site is currently vacant and work can commence as soon as contracted.
