Housing New Zealand (the Principal) is a Crown agency that manages state housing on behalf of the New Zealand government. Its role is to provide healthy, comfortable and fit-for-purpose housing for people in need, for the duration of their need.
Housing New Zealand focuses on the efficient and effective management of state houses and the tenancies of those living in them. Housing New Zealand owns or manages approximately 64,000 properties nationwide, including about 1,500 houses for community groups providing residential services. More than 184,000 people live in Housing New Zealand properties.

The Project covers the design coordination and construction (including Civil Works) of 80 new dwellings at 21 Rolleston St, Mt Cook, Wellington.
The Selection of a Contractor will be undertaken in two stages. This Request for ROI is the first stage and will result in the selection of a shortlist of prospective contractors to undertake the Contract Works (“Shortlisted Respondents”). The Principal will issue a Request for Proposal for the Contract Works to the Shortlisted Respondents (“RFP”), each of whom will be invited to respond.
This Request for ROI is seeking a civil works contractor that:
a) can demonstrate their commitment to sound health and safety practices;
b) can demonstrate their previous experience in undertaking works that are similar to the Contract Works;
c) can demonstrate their capability, in terms of resources and plant, to operate in the Mt Cook, Wellington area; and
d) confirms they have capacity to undertake the Contract Works in the Indicative Timeline in Section 3 of Part A of this Request for ROI.
The Principal’s Requirements are set out in Appendix A.

Build Only 3910 (December 2017 version)
The Contract is attached to this Request for ROI (as Appendix E) for information purposes only. It will be issued to the Shortlisted Respondents (again) as part of the RFP. In its response to the RFP each Shortlisted Respondent will be required to accept the form of Contract.
