Housing New Zealand (HNZ) has a ten year programme to deliver more than 2000 homes a year and we expect that a number of these will be apartment blocks of 5 levels or higher. This large-scale “pipeline” of multi-storey apartment complexes and housing comprises of state and affordable homes all within a Mixed Housing Urban Zone. The result will be an increase in the density of our existing neighbourhoods which is the key to solving New Zealand’s housing challenge.
One such project that responses to this RFI will inform the procurement strategy for is the redevelopment of a 4,052sqm site located at 139 Greys Avenue, Central Auckland, New Zealand. The planned complex includes three new apartment towers up to 15 storeys that contain approximately 276 apartments, 50 basement carparks, and more than 2,500sqm of commercial space/ support facilities.
In order to deliver the pipeline HNZ is seeking to learn more about the market for building multi-storey apartment tower developments.
Therefore, we would like to hear from experienced, large-scale builders who would be interested in working with Housing New Zealand to deliver multi level construction projects including the 139 Greys Avenue complex.
