PURPOSE OF REQUEST FOR ROI
1) INTRODUCTION
Housing New Zealand (the Principal) is a Crown agency that manages state housing on behalf of the New Zealand government. Its role is to provide healthy, comfortable and fit-for-purpose housing for people in need, for the duration of their need.
Housing New Zealand focuses on the efficient and effective management of state houses and the tenancies of those living in them. Housing New Zealand owns or manages approximately 64,000 properties nationwide, including about 1,500 houses for community groups providing residential services. More than 184,000 people live in Housing New Zealand properties.

2) PROJECT, PROCUREMENT PROCESS, PRINCIPAL'S REQUIREMENTS AND CONTRACT WORKS
Project
The Principal owns the site bordered by Falcon Street, Iris grove, Calliope Crescent, and Castor Crescent in Cannons Creek, Porirua. The original structures on the site have been demolished. The Principal now intends to redevelop the sites to provide a number of state houses ("Project").
The site will be divided into three build lots. Each Build Lot and respective sub-lots are available as packages of works. More information on the make up of these sections is included below and attached in Appendix I Material to Inform.
The development of the site will be undertaken in two phases. This registration of interest seeks requests for build works only. Civil works are being completed separate to this registration of interest.
Procurement Process
Selection of a Contractor or Contractors will be undertaken in two phases. This Request for ROI is the first stage and will result in the selection of a shortlist of prospective contractors to undertake the Contract Works ("Shortlisted Respondents"). HNZ intend to shortlist up to six prospective contractors for the second phase. The Principal will issue a Request for Proposal for the Contract Works to the Shortlisted Respondents ("RFP"), each of whom will be invited to respond.
