Gisborne’s wastewater currently undergoes fine screening and biological treatment in a trickling filter prior to discharge, along with the separately screened industrial flows, to the marine outfall. Solids grown in the trickling filter are not currently removed from discharge. Gisborne District Council is looking for an experienced engineering business to develop the detailed design for Phase 1 of the Gisborne wastewater treatment plant upgrade to provide solids clarification, solids handling and UV disinfection. This is required to comply with the water quality standards specified in the applicable resource consent conditions.
Phase 1 scope is divided into two parts:
• Part 1 – Preliminary design
• Part 2 – Detailed design and development of tender documents
Phase 2 refers to the future works to reduce or remove flows from the outfall and is not part of this RFQ.
Whilst it is expected that the successful tenderer will also be required to provide technical support to Council through the Phase 1 Tender and Construction phases, Council is not seeking quotations which cover the full life of the project.
Please note in the RFQ Item 2.10 "Other tender documents" that Items 2.10.4 Pricing Schedule and 2.10.23, 2.10.24 and 2.10.25 will be provided early next week in Notice to Tenderers No. 1.
