Overview

Gisborne District Council is looking for an experienced and suitably qualified engineering business / consultancy to develop the detailed design for Phase 1 of the Gisborne wastewater treatment plant upgrade.

The first phase of the project will be to develop the detailed design for clarification, solids handling, solids removal, and UV disinfection to be added to the current system. This upgrade is required for Council to comply with the water quality discharge standards specified in the applicable resource consent conditions.

We are seeking to partner with an organisation that is willing and able to produce the detailed design on time and within budget. While the scope of work is already well-defined, an innovative team would nevertheless be a great asset to this project. We are interested in ideas that you may develop that could further benefit the ratepayers, tangata whenua or the general population. We are looking for suppliers that will provide value for money, seeking out cost savings where possible, but making sure that required standards are still achieved.

Taking part in the design of the first phase of the wastewater treatment plant upgrade could provide an opportunity to take part in the second design phase for the wastewater treatment plant upgrade that is to take place in the future. This is still to be developed to concept stage, and is not guaranteed.
