Overview
Community caretakers have fulfilled core functions for Council (transfer station, street clean, public toilets, and litter bins). In some townships, Community Caretakers have undertaken other responsibilities such as grass mowing and weed spraying. The approach is to retain the Community Caretaker service, but to standardize its function between townships, and to include only those core functions listed below with other more specialist functions to be undertaken through the services of a master contractor (potentially through engaging the services of local operators with appropriate skills).
