Overview

The Gisborne Olympic Pool is Gisborne's leading and largest recreational and sporting aquatic centre, which services the wider Gisborne region. It was build in 1974, largely through fundraising by the community and is owned and managed by the Gisborne District Council.
Three pools were initially constructed and as demand for recreation has grown, new facilities such as a hydro slide, BBQ areas and a hydrotherapy pool have been added. To extend use of the pool outside the summer season, a tent like cover was constructed in 1995. The plant and equipment necessary to support pools has been gradually upgraded over the decades.
However, the Olympic pool facility is beginning to show its age, and there are a number of issues facing the complex. The purpose of this RFP is address three of these maintenance issues for refurbishment. These are:

-Partial Re-tiling of the 50m Pool
- Partial Re-tiling of the 33m Pool
- Refurbishment of the fibreglass hydro slide tubes
- Refurbishment of the fibreglass toddler slide tubes
- Refurbishment of the changing room floors

The Council is looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to deliver fit for purpose aquatic facility maintenance refurbishment for all in their community.
