The Department of Conservation (DOC) intends to release a Registration of Interest (ROI) through GETS in November 2026 to establish a preferred supplier arrangement for the supply of business-as-usual (BAU) traps, bait stations, trap tunnels, monitoring consumables, replacement parts, accessories, and related conservation pest management products used across New Zealand.
The procurement seeks to establish relationships with specialist trapping system suppliers, manufacturers, and authorised distributors that can demonstrate a core business and proven capability in the supply and support of commercially available trapping products and associated accessories. The arrangement is intended to provide DOC with ongoing access to a broad range of trapping and monitoring products that meet the majority of operational requirements, while supporting competition, value for money, and reliable nationwide supply.
Products incorporating artificial intelligence (AI), automated image recognition, camera-enabled monitoring systems, acoustic recorders, trail cameras, transmitters, herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, and related products will be outside the scope of this procurement for the time being.
Interested suppliers are encouraged to ensure they are registered on GETS and are prepared to demonstrate their specialist capability, product offerings, supply chain capacity, and relevant sustainability initiatives. This notice is provided for advance planning purposes only. Full details, response requirements, and evaluation criteria will be contained within the ROI documentation when released.
DOC is not taking questions at this time. Future Procurement Opportunities are to advise the market of potential upcoming opportunities which may or may not be progressed. If the project is progressed, you will be notified. Any further information about this opportunity will be available on GETS if/when we go to market.
