The Department of Conservation (DOC) is seeking proposals from suitably qualified suppliers to provide a Design and Build solution for a new toilet facility at Home Bay Campground, Motutapu Island. The project is required following the closure of the existing southern campground toilet block due to geotechnical slip risk and aims to restore and improve the level of service provided to campground visitors.
The successful supplier will be responsible for the concept and detailed design, supply, transport, installation, commissioning and handover of a new centrally located toilet block, together with all associated infrastructure. The scope includes architectural, structural, plumbing and electrical design, consenting support where required, integration and commissioning of the existing wastewater system, and reuse of existing solar infrastructure where practical.
The project also includes the decommissioning and demolition of the existing southern toilet block and associated wastewater infrastructure once the new facility is operational. Suppliers will be expected to provide a durable, low-maintenance and accessible solution suitable for a remote coastal environment, with a design life of at least 30 years, while achieving high standards of health and safety, environmental management and visitor experience.
DOC is undertaking this procurement through an open competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process and is seeking suppliers with proven experience in design-build delivery, wastewater infrastructure, and remote or island-based construction projects. The selected supplier will be required to deliver a safe, resilient and fit-for-purpose facility that supports long-term visitor use and asset management objectives for Home Bay Campground.
DOC is not taking questions at this time. Future Procurement Opportunities are to advise the market of potential upcoming opportunities which may or may not be progressed. If the project is progressed, you will be notified. Any further information about this opportunity will be available on GETS if/when we go to market.
