Overview

The Department of Conservation (DOC) requests tenders for the supply and delivery of a jetboat to support operations on the Whanganui River within Whanganui National Park.

DOC requires a proven, production-series 5.7m aluminium jetboat and engine, capable of carrying up to 8 passengers, and suited to operating in a remote and demanding river environment. The vessel must be supplied with a trailer and meet all relevant Maritime New Zealand design, construction, and safety standards.

The scope includes design (if applicable), manufacture, fit-out, certification, and delivery of the fully operational vessel to Whanganui, if production is outside of the Whanganui, Manawatu or Taranaki regions.

Suppliers will be required to demonstrate technical capability, relevant experience, ability to deliver within the required timeframe, and compliance with specified requirements. Submissions will be evaluated using a two-envelope price and weighted criteria approach.

The successful supplier will deliver the completed vessel, including all required documentation and certifications, by September 2027 or earlier where possible.
