The Fox Glacier South side carpark provides access to the popular Fox Glacier South Side walkway/ cycle way.
Currently there are no toilet facilities at this popular visitor destination, causing issues with people toileting in the bush/ carpark area, and along the track resulting in DOC receiving multiple complaints.
There is also a shortage of car and bus parks in the existing carpark, with overflow vehicles parking along state highway 6. This project aims to construct a new toilet block and septic system with the compacity for current and predicted future loading demand and add an additional 50 carparks & 6 bus parks to the parking area."
This notification aims to inform promising and capable Contractors in the region and nearby area to participate in this upcoming project. We are looking for competent and reliable Contractors who can work with DOC to carry out this project. Scope of Works are:
1.Design site specific, engineered toilet block, waste water system and carpark area including detailed drawings and specifications for tender and construction.
2.Carry out civil construction works to add additional carparking area as per designs and specifications.
3.Construct and install toilet block and wastewater system as per detailed designs and specifications.
