Overview

The National Eradication Team (NET) is planning a trial of the 1080 sausage bait in early 2026 to test the necessity of a prefeed application for target species efficacy and require monitoring to be carried out pre and post operations.

NET is planning for the toxin application being in mid-February with monitoring of stoats and cats being done before and after this. We plan on having two treatment sites (one with both prefeed and toxin applied, and one with only toxin) and one non-treatment site; each of these sites will be ~3,000 ha.
