Overview

Weed control forms a key function of the Department of Conservation (DOC) and is required to protect indigenous biodiversity and ecosystems. The Department is looking for all capable contractors irrespective of size, nature or region to be able to work for DOC, while having all necessary certifications and insurances in place.

The type of work that this panel will cover focuses on two main methods for weed control and eradication operations:

Type 1 – Knapsack / Chainsaw / Hand tool services including abseiling if required, ground spraying, and other Weed Control Services (e.g. wands, specialised tools)
Type 2 – Truck / Tractor mounted spray work.

Note: Control and eradication operations will include wilding pine control but excludes aerial spraying and aquatic weed control.

Full information on the ROI, and how to respond, will be advertised on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) in September/October 2025.

DOC is not taking questions at this time. Future Procurement Opportunities are to advise the market of potential upcoming opportunities which may or may not be progressed. If the project is progressed, you will be notified. Any further information about this opportunity will be available on GETS if/when we go to market.
