Overview

Term contract for maintenance and renewals of the Department of Conservation's roads within its Tongariro District.

This RFT addresses the procurement of the maintenance contract for the Department's roads within the Tongariro District from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2028, with provision for two one-year extensions (3 yrs + 1 yr + 1 yr).

The Contract Works include the following elements:
• Summer maintenance: pavement repairs, street cleaning, drainage activities (culverts and water tables), vegetation control, pavement marking, signs maintenance and incident/ emergency response activities.
• Renewal of unsealed roads. This typically includes the remetalling of road pavement, replacement of culverts, and reinstatement of side-drains ('watertabling').
• Winter maintenance: snow and ice management and clearing, and associated traffic management. This includes the management of traffic accident sites.

Tenderers should familiarise themselves with the Tongariro roading asset data by accessing the Principal’s AWM/RAMM database. Requests for access must be submitted to the Principal’s Nominated Contact via GETS before the deadline for submission of questions. Access requests should include the name, email address and AWM/RAMM username of the person/s to receive access. Access may take up to three working days to process.
