Overview
The new Pouakai Hut is a 36-bunk hut located adjacent to the Mangorei Track on the Taranaki Crossing, a multi-day walk within Egmont National Park. Visitors pass the hut on the way to the iconic Pouakai Tarns.
DOC will be seeking an experienced supplier to undertake all phases of hut construction including, but not limited to, demolition of the existing hut, installation of new toilets and grey water system and construction of the proposed Pouakai Hut.
