The Department of Conservation (DOC) is looking to engage and partner with supplier(s) to provide maintenance and construction products, consumables and materials to enable the Department to maintain and upgrade the assets we manage. Asset management is a core part of our business – we manage assets valued at about $8 billion with land making up 90 percent of this and the remainder being mainly visitor assets including roads, tracks and huts.

As part of the maintenance and ongoing development of these assets, DOC currently purchases maintenance and construction products, consumables and materials either on an ad hoc basis or in line with DOC’s asset management plans. The circa $3M annual spend is currently purchased from a wide range of suppliers and DOC currently has no formal contracts in place.

As a result, the objective of this procurement is to identify and engage one supplier for ‘One stop shop hardware’ (Lot 1) and a panel of supplier(s) for timber and specialist hardware products (Lot 2) who can supply, implement, support and maintain a solution to provide these maintenance and construction products, consumables and materials products in an accessible, reliable and cost-effective manner to DOC.
