Overview
Lake Matheson is an Icon destination located in Fox Glacier, South Westland. Approximately 137,000 international and domestic tourists visit Lake Matheson annually, often causing this carpark to be at or above capacity. With the creation of a new visitor daywalk experience; the Lake Gault Track, this carpark is expected to see an increase in visitor demand for parking. Design Consultants have designed a reconfiguration of the existing carpark space to increase the number of car parks. This reconfiguration also includes changes to an existing wastewater treatment and disposal system, which is a part of this contract works. The carpark and wastewater reconfiguration must be completed before June 2020.
