Overview

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) 3 Waters Group is responsible for managing drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater services, which are subject to strict regulatory, planning, and performance reporting requirements. Under the Local Government Act 2002, councils must annually report on non-financial performance measures, including the safety of drinking water. This measure is based on compliance with national Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules (DWQAR) and must be reported in the Council’s annual report, which is audited by Audit New Zealand.

Specifically, we are seeking services related to:

• Annual drinking water compliance auditing services for the DCC’s four registered drinking water supplies (Dunedin City, Outram, Waikouaiti and West Taieri)
• Annual drinking water safety plan implementation audits.

DCC is looking to partner with a specialist drinking water safety and compliance auditing provider to provide independent verification of both annual performance reporting and the implementation of its Drinking Water Safety Plans (DWSPs). We are looking for a provider to partner with for a long-term contract opportunity of up to 7 years, subject to performance.
