Overview

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) wants to upgrade the current Destination Playground at Marlow Park to be a modern, inclusive playground. The DCC has worked closely in partnership with mana whenua through Aukaha to develop the concept design for the new playground. We want to engage a single Supplier to take this project from concept design to completion of the physical works.

The Supplier will:
• Finalise a design in partnership with the DCC and Aukaha design team for Council approval
• Lead detailed design and the development of construction drawings
• Support the selection and procurement of off-the-shelf play equipment
• Support the design, fabrication, and procurement of bespoke play equipment
• If selected at the preferred design, lead the rehabilitation of iconic existing play equipment
• Undertake appropriate safety and structural assessments
• Undertake quantity surveying to ensure the final design remains within budget
• Lead fabrication, landscaping, construction and the installation of play equipment

The proposed upgrade of the wider playground presents a unique opportunity for a Supplier to partner with the DCC on a project that will having a lasting positive impact on the community for generations to come. It is desirable this work is completed by 30 June 2027, and we want to engage with a contractor who will make this happen.
