Overview

Shaping Future Dunedin Transport is a collaborative partnership between NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Dunedin City Council (DCC) and Otago Regional Council (ORC) to improve how people move into, out of and around central Dunedin. People living to the south and west of Dunedin mostly drive when they travel to Dunedin as this is the most viable way of travelling into the city centre. DCC Transport staff have worked with ORC to make taking the bus more attractive for people travelling from Mosgiel and the surrounding area so that there is less reliance on taking a car.

To support people taking the bus, a Park and Ride facility, located in Mosgiel, is proposed. The construction works for this project involves establishing a 200-car park space at the rail yard at Mosgiel Station, accessed off Burns Street, Mosgiel.

The DCC seeks to partner with a Contractor who has the experience and capability to complete these works by 31 May 2026. We want the work delivered quickly, safely and to a high standard. We expect the contractor to show proactive communication and take pride in working on an important project for the community.
