Overview

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) is developing a comprehensive and planned condition assessment programme to be implemented over the next 2 to 3 years. The primary project objective is to determine the remaining useful life and replacement date of the VHC pipelines and identify remedial work to be undertaken to prevent premature pipeline failures. The comprehensive condition assessment will provide evidence based strategic direction for future investment.

The programme outcomes include:
• Critical Pipelines - determine the remaining useful life and replacement date of the DCC nominated VHC pipeline sections assessed for each pipe size and material.
• Dam Safety - determine the remaining useful life and replacement date of the DCC nominated reservoir tunnels and pipelines.
• Recommend remediation work for DCC to undertake to prevent premature failures.
• Provide early communication about assets at risk of premature failure.

This is an opportunity to partner with the DCC over the next 2 to 3 years as we deliver this strategically important pipeline assessment work.

A briefing is planned for interested providers who can implement all or some of the condition assessments. The one-hour briefing will be held at 2:30 PM on 5 December 2024 at the Dunedin City Library. The briefing will also be accessible via Microsoft Teams. Refer to the Notice for details.
