Advance Notice of an opportunity.

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) aims to upgrade the City's parking technology and explore how new technology could be part of an integrated transport monitoring system.

The DCC is looking to procure a cost-effective, deployable Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) camera system, or similar system, that can be used for undertaking parking occupancy counts. The information gained will be used to help us manage and prioritise parking across the city, identify parking issues, help us develop business cases and design transport projects.

We need a system that can be easily deployed to monitor areas of parking and report on occupancy, duration and turnover.
It needs to collect data remotely and securely. The data gathered must be reliable, accurate and belong to DCC. The data must be retained in a way that complies with relevant privacy obligations and it should be possible to anonymise any information gathered.

Our intention is to initiate an open-market process on GETS during 2024.
