The Rivers, Coast/Harbours and Biosecurity sections at Canterbury Regional Council (CRC) annually undertake exceeding $20 million worth of work throughout Canterbury, a significant proportion of which is undertaken by contractors on a job-by-job basis as work that is identified throughout the year.
The work includes: animal pest surveillance and control, targeted pest-plant control, planting, civil and earthworks, tree work, mowing, transport of plant and rock, fencing, planting, culvert inspection services, marine services and other related work.
We want to develop a “long list” or panel of suppliers so we can choose the most suitable staff, equipment or service for a particular job.
We need sufficient information about your companies’ plant and/or services to understand your capabilities and capacity.
We need to have confidence you have an adequate Health and Safety system in place and that you follow your procedures. Most companies demonstrate this through the SiteWise service, but we do accept other nationally recognised externally audited reports if they can demonstrate this.
We operate within a range of constraints including codes of practice, resource consent conditions and internal policy, and need our contractors to follow the same requirements.
The contractor panel will be used for much of the Business As Usual (BAU) works that require contractor skills and equipment to work alongside CRC Staff in meeting the various Legislated and Council approved plans in rivers, biosecurity and coasts/harbours sections.
