The Canterbury Regional Council (CRC) Science Directorate provides science advice to support our regulatory teams in the organisation. The Groundwater Resources Science Team’s main focus is groundwater quantity, and groundwater abstraction is one of our organisation’s key resource management areas.
The proposed project focuses on stream depleting groundwater takes and aims to answer the question: ‘What areas of groundwater use in the region are directly or highly stream depleting with a reasonable level of certainty?’
We want you to help us assess the connection between groundwater and surface waters on a regional scale by:
• Creating a ‘map’ of aquifer parameters
• Using this map to assess hydraulic connection to streams
The selected provider will collaborate with the Groundwater and Surface Water Resources Science Teams at CRC. Your role will involve providing a clear methodology, maps of aquifer parameters and a description of uncertainty.
CRC is seeking a reliable and cost-effective provider to create maps of appropriate aquifer parameters and stream depletion categories for Canterbury groundwater systems, accompanied by supporting documentation
