Overview

What we need:
Provide Environment Canterbury with after-hours answering services to support our communities to engage the right expertise at the right time. Offering a service from after 5pm till 8am weekdays, public holidays (including Christmas/New Year), all weekend and as required for our Advisory Team. (Also, during work hours as required for team meetings and events.)
Diverting individuals to our internal experts, where urgent, or providing excellent customer services directing our customers to other agencies or to business day services. This will include taking extensive details from our customers on the issue, the site and levels of urgency, and clearly articulating them to the relevant individual or team for action.
Waitaha - our Canterbury region - is like no other and we are proud to call it home. We work with Papatipu Rūnanga, stakeholders and the wider community to manage the use and quality of our natural resources, including water, land and air. As a Regional Council we're responsible for environmental incident responding, flood protection, public transport, Civil Defence, and more.
Together we're taking action together to shape a thriving and resilient Canterbury, now and for future generations. Toitū te marae o Tāne, toitū te marae o Tangaroa, toitū te iwi.
