The purpose of this work is to provide an evidence-based assessment of the ongoing commercial viability of a process vegetable sector in Hawke's Bay and identify practical pathways for maintaining or rebuilding regional processing capability.

In particular with the departure of McCains' there is need to understand the viability and practicality of a grower's co-operative in taking on board the areas that were specifically managed by McCains namely harvesting, processing, marketing and sales.

This opportunity is subject to funding being secured prior to the contract being awarded, Interim Regional Office (IRO), Central Hawke's Bay District Council (CHBDC) and Hastings District Council (HDC) reserves the right to withdraw this opportunity if the funding is not approved.
