Central Hawke’s Bay District Council wishes to notify prospective suppliers of an upcoming tender proposal (RFP) for the Design/Build contract to deliver upgrades to the Porangahau and Takapau water treatment plants, commencing April 2019 for contract completion end of September 2019.

The project activities will include (but not be restricted to):
• Site visits and assessments
• Community liaison
• Development of concept design options, including Safety in Design
• Peer review
• Development of detailed design
• Construction of solution
• (if applicable) Demolition/ removal/ disposal of existing plant
• Reinstatement of the site.

As the Design/Build approach will potentially require suppliers to identify and form relationships with suitable joint venture partners for this project, the intent of this notice is to provide interested parties sufficient time to engage in discussions with partners in preparation for submitting a comprehensive tender proposal.

Council expects tenderers to present a proposal on how best to design and build (upgrade) the two operational water treatment plants in the time frame specified and within a budget specified.
