We’re inviting you to attend our next online event, following our engagements with both the primary and secondary care sectors held in February. We'll be sharing what we've heard, and our next steps to achieve better outcomes for injured New Zealanders.
Please register to attend one of the online engagement events on Thursday 29 May via the links in the attachment to this notice. We’re running two sessions: 12:00pm to 1.00pm, and 6.00pm to 7.00pm.
Content at both sessions will be the same. A recording will be available after the event on our webpage.
The challenge
As we shared with you, our data shows more people are requiring time off work due to injury, and their time to recover and return to work and independence is getting longer. We know that longer recovery timeframes and extended time off work has negative impacts for the injured person, their whānau, employer, and community. This is also putting pressure on the Accident Compensation Scheme and the sustainability of the entitlements we provide.
You can watch the recordings from the February events on our website.
The opportunity
We asked to hear your ideas, big or small, on how we can help injured kiritaki (clients) get back to work and independence faster after an injury. The number of ideas shared highlights there’s more we can do collectively to help achieve this.
We’re reporting back – join our primary and secondary care online event
We said we’d be in touch in April to update you on the next steps. We’ve reviewed your primary care and secondary care submissions thoroughly, and in response to similar themes in both, we invite you to attend our combined engagement on 29 May, where we’ll:
• update you on how we’re using your feedback
• provide an outline of the timeframes we’re working to, to deliver suggested improvements
• introduce the newly formed advisory groups (from the expression of interest), who we’ll be working closely with
• outline our plans for engaging with you regularly along the way.
If you have any questions about the online event and next steps, please send them to primarycare@acc.co.nz.
We’re focused on working with you to collectively address shared challenges. We look forward to finding ways we can improve recovery outcomes for injured New Zealanders together.
