This registration of interest relates to the delivery of a pilot service providing nationally consistent Peer Support Service for people with a Spinal Cord Impairment (SCI).
The key outcomes we want to achieve are:
• Availability of peer support services to all ACC clients with SCI, regardless of location.
• Data collection for developing outcome measures
• Integration with Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Units
• Supports available to family/whanau of the client with a SCI
The service will be available to all newly injured clients, and those with existing injuries, their family and whanau to provide support in adjusting to living with a SCI. Services will be available to clients no matter what stage of their journey they are in e.g. acute treatment phase, inpatient rehabilitation, living in the community.
