Due to capacity issues in the Hawkes Bay and Taranaki regions ACC requires additional General Practitioner/s with Special Interest (GPSI) providers in the Hawkes Bay and Taranaki regions.
EXISTING CONTRACTED GPSI SUPPLIERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO RESPOND TO THIS REQUEST FOR APPLICATION.
A GPSI is defined as a General Practitioner who has advanced training and/or experience in musculoskeletal medicine. They will complement their primary care role by delivering a high quality, improved access service for musculoskeletal conditions to meet local needs. The GPSI Service is not a specialist consultant service and onward referral will be made as appropriate. The GPSI has access to specialist investigations and services, such as MRI and Orthotics, and is able to undertake advanced general practice procedures, such as joint injections and minor surgery.
