MPI is seeking to appoint a new panel of suppliers for the provision of Fisheries Science and Research Services (‘the Panel’) for an initial term of five years with rights to renew for two further terms of five years, and the right to appoint new suppliers to the Panel from time to time.
The aim of the Panel will be to provide the majority of the science and research services Fisheries New Zealand (FNZ) sources from external suppliers, in alignment with FNZ’s objectives.
Suppliers appointed by the Panel will generally be invited to tender for specific projects for which Panel members have appropriate expertise. MPI does not guarantee any minimum volume of work or level of expenditure for Panel members.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is to establish a panel of suppliers who are capable of delivering research and science services in areas of Fisheries Science.
It is expected that appointed suppliers will have:
• A track record of providing research services.
• Capacity to undertake individual scientific research projects contracted through statement of works.
• The networks, relationships and facilities to be able to meet the requirements of the research and science services.
• Personnel with the knowledge, experience and qualifications to deliver the requirements
• Capacity to be able to deliver to the required quality.
• Appropriate number of personnel and resources in relation to the requirements of the sub-category.

• Surveys
• Quantitative Research
• Aquatic Environment Research
• Ageing
• Catch-sampling programmes
• Tagging programmes
