Far North District Council (FNDC) invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced and capable building contractors in the Far North wishing to participate in the procurement process for its re-piling of our Historic Heritage Listed Hall in Kohukohu.

During previous renewal works it was identified that the south eastern corner of the building had settled considerably, with uneven floor levels clearly visible in the main hall. A Geotech report undertaken in April 2019 (attached) describes the settlement at approximately 70+mm. It is this area of foundations and subfloor, marked red (see image 7.2) in the geotechnical report, that is proposed to be remediated. Attached is the solution proposed by Structural Sense who where engaged to provide a workable detailed design to re-level the Hall

The proposed foundation renewals works are of an urgent nature and are required to prevent further deterioration or damage to the wider structure of the building.
