Overview

The objective of the Kaitaia Water Project is to provide long term security of potable water for over 5,000 people and businesses in Kaitaia. FNDC is seeking to procure experienced physical works suppliers to safely build a 14km pipeline and bore field from an existing design.

What we don’t want

Drilling of the bores will be completed by others, but the bore pump and associated sedimentary infrastructure will be included within the scope of this contract.

Why should you bid?

This is an opportunity for you to be a part of securing long-term water security for a community that has experienced five water shortages in the past 10 years. In addition, it is an opportunity to invest in that community and the wider Northland region to help the economy to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and develop capable skilled resources to deliver the planned pipeline of future infrastructure works.

A bit about us

The Far North District is the northernmost territorial authority district of New Zealand, consisting of the northern part of the Northland Peninsula in the North Island. It stretches from North Cape and Cape Reinga, down to the Bay of Islands, the Hokianga and the town of Kaikohe
The Far North District Council was formed by the amalgamation of the counties of Mangonui, Hokianga, Whangaroa and Bay of Islands and the boroughs of Kaitaia and Kaikohe.

The district has three wards: Te Hiku (in the north), Kaikohe/Hokianga (in the west), Bay of Islands/Whangaroa (in the east). The council seat is in Kaikohe.
