Overview
Wellington Water is proposing major upgrade works to optimise the capacity of the Te
Marua Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Upper Hutt. The Te Marua WTP is strategically
significant as it provides approximately 45% of the region’s drinking water demand.
To achieve a target treatment capacity of 140 MLD under all foreseeable raw water quality
conditions, WWL will implement a 60 MLD Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) plant and
supporting upgrades.
