New sewer main located along the Merton Street road corridor, Upper Hutt.
The existing 225/150mm unreinforced concrete sewer main runs along Merton Street, from near the intersection of Fergusson Drive to the intersection of Hikurangi Street. The upgrade works are required to renew this main which is in poor condition. The proposed alignment is on the same alignment as the existing pipeline in order to keep the main within the parking bay. Maintaining of live sewer flows will be required.
The work is planned for construction in the 2018/19 financial year.
• Approximately 340m of SN16 DN150 uPVC sewer main via open trenching in the Merton Street carriageway, including 1 road crossing.
• Approximately 160m of SN16 DN225 uPVC sewer main via open trenching in the Merton Street carriageway.
• Installation of 10 new manholes on the new sewer main.
• Reconnecting of approx. 22 laterals to the new pipeline inclusive of approx. 125m of SN16 DN100 uPVC, and three road crossings.
